How To Download Android P 9.0 ROM & Install In Mi A1

Yesterday joeyhuab, who posted how you can install Android P 9.0 ROM on your Mi A1 device Android P has comes with various new features. AI OS and many more things included. So before I started to telling you can install Android P on your Mi A1 device make sure is that your device fully backup and anything happen wrong we are not responsible for thermonuclear war.

So, lets begin, although flashing process is easy if you’re experienced already.

Android P Flashing Process For Mi A1

  1. Enable Developer options in Settings app
  2. Check Enable OEM Unlocking
  3. Reboot to fastboot mode
  4. Unlock your bootloader
  5. Install TWRP-fastboot only through fastboot boot command (Extract the .img file from the zip)
  6. Flash CosmicDan’s TWRP Installer through your current

Now reboot your device into TWRP Recovery Mode and it is look like screenshot below:

How To Download Android P 9.0 ROM

After rebooting into TWRP recovery Mode do this steps:

  1. Go to WIPE then ADVANCED then click FORMAT data. This will remove Encryption on your device and allows you to set new passwords when installing the GSI. Note that this will format your internal storage.
  2. Treblelize through TWRP Tissot Manager (Go to advanced, click Tissot Manager and choose the repartition userdata option. Select singleboot option then click repartition)
  3. Flash latest Vendor.img as VENDOR IMAGE
  4. MOUNT VENDOR PARTITION
  5. PUT YOUR FILES IN A FOLDER WITH A FOLDER NAME WITHOUT SPACES (ex: AndroidP)
  6. Flash A/B system Pie PR1 img as SYSTEM IMAGE (Extract the .img file from the zip)
  7. Flash POST-sGSI 1 tissot zip.
  8. Flash POST-sGSI 2 tissot zip.
  9. Flash a treble-compatible kernel (MounProjectK,Velocity)
  10. Go to Tissot Manager again and go to patches. Once there, patch the SELinux mode and set it to Permissive.
  11. Reboot to system.
  12. Once booted, install the latest Play services linked above either via the Files app or via adb. This will fix the Pixel Setup and Google Backup issues as well as allows you access to the Play Store without problems.
  13. You can also flash Magisk 16.7 if you want. This is the version that works properly with treble. Credits to @topjohnwu for Magisk.
  14. Install the Data transfer tool APK update as well.
  15. Lastly, install this Magisk module via TWRP to fix the Camera Settings crash issue.

How to Fix MTP

To enable USB MTP, enable Developer options in the About phone section of the Settings app by tapping the Build Number 4 times. Then look for the File Transfer option in the Dev options.

How to Enable Nav Bar Gesture on Mi A1

After rebooting your device go to Settings > System > Gesture and enable Swipe Up on Home Button to enable the Nav Bar Gestures.

How to Fix Gcam on Mi A1

  • nstall this Magisk module via TWRP to fix the Gcam Settings force close.
  • For GCam version, I recommend Arnova’s version instead. Get it here.

Flash The Android P ROM To Update From DP5 to PR1, Without Wiping Data

  1. Wipe system and vendor ONLY
  2. Flash vendor
  3. Mount vendor
  4. Flash PIE PR1 AB GSI (Android P ROM Download)
  5. Flash POST-sGSI 1 tissot zip.
  6. Flash POST-sGSI 2 tissot zip.
  7. Reboot to system
